Gyokyo Lake Trek

The noticeably quieter route, the trek to Gokyo lake will be a fine experience for you with very good scenery of the glaciers and mountains. The route breaks off the main Base camp trail at Sanasa the edge of Khumjung(3780m) following the Dudhkoshi with immense Ngozumba glacier besides. Several brilliant blue lakes dammed up by the glacier’s lateral moraine, dot the west side of the valley above and below Gokyo. For the view of Mt. Everest and Mt. Makalu, you can hike to Gokyo Ri (5357m), the highest point of the trail.

Day 01:   Fly Kathmandu to Lukla (2840m). Trek to Phakding (2610m). (L, D)
Day 02:   Trek from Phakding to Namche bazaar (3440m). (B, L, D)
Day 03:   Rest day for acclimatization at Namche bazaar. (B, L, D)
Day 04:   Trek from Namche to Phortse Thangu (3680m). (B, L, D)
Day 05:   Trek Phortse Thangu to Dole (4110m). (B, L, D)
Day 06:   Trek from Dole to Macchermo (4470m). (B, L, D)
Day 07:   Trek from Macchermo to Gokyo (4798m). (B, L, D)
Day 08:   Rest day or hike to Gokyo Ri (5357m) for the splendid view of Everest (B, L, D)
Day 09:   Trek down to Dole from Gokyo. (B, L, D)
Day 10:   Trek Dole to Namche bazaar. (B, L, D)
Day 11:   Trek Namche to Lukla (B, L, D)
Day 12:   Fly Lukla Kathmandu. Transfer to your hotel (B)
